Vintage Christmas Findings

I love Christmas and look for it all year long.

Years ago I spent a Christmas knowing it would be my very last with a dearly loved one.

Something happened to me in my very being.

I now absorb this Holiday. The music, sounds, smells and everything about it all.

I also wait every year for the official kickoff of Christmas for me.

It is when I hear O Holy Night. So many varied places when this happens.

This year it was standing in a Lowes store Christmas decorations area.

On the overhead sound system there it was sounding out for all but especially for me to hear.

I got an extra gift this year along with it. A little girl was with her mom.

I actually heard her say "It is here, I have waited for it all year."

Of course she meant Christmas and the decorations she was standing in the middle of.

I agree sweet child wholeheartedly.

My shop for this page is Graceful Antiques and Vintage Collectibles.

It is on venue Ruby Lane.

Ruby Lane has been a premier place for Antiques and Collectibles since 1998.

I also have a vintage clothing shop on Etsy.
It is called GracefulVtgClothing.

May you have a beautiful season with much love and make many memories.

Two Venues Better Than One?

Once upon a time I was on 7 different venues selling my vintage.
Whew! I am tired just thinking about it.

I have decided to open a new shop on Etsy for vintage clothing
and accessories.

I had been on Etsy with 2 shops once upon a time.

Please check me out there if you like vintage clothing.

My shop name on Etsy is GracefulVtgClothing.

For some reason I could not fit the full name in as the shop name.

So you may find me by using the url.

Vintage and Decisions Always!

Hello all you vintage lovers.

I have been a vintage dealer since 1996 in real world and online since 2002.

During the online time it is a constant of trying to make decisions on where to peddle my wares or pass on my treasures is how I love to think of it.

When I came online it was so easy peasy.

Put 3 items on and sell 2. No kidding.

What has happened to the field is pick an adjective. I have many.

No more is it about the inventory or even the venue IMHO.

I recently took all my vintage clothing off my shop and am trying to decide my next move.

Due to all the other ridiculous factors beyond my control I am having to really think about things.

I know I am not the only vintage seller in a quandary lately.

Perhaps someone has a hint for me of where the best place to sell vintage clothing is.

At some point much of my vintage no longer makes sense to sell online.

Shipping and overhead cost but mostly the time factor comes into play.

I really want to make it to my 20 year anniversary selling online and that will be February 2016.

So I keep plugging along and will concentrate on my other categories of vintage and Antiques of which   I have my wagons full.

Thank you.

Spring Oh Where Are You? Graceful Antiques Has Vintage Spring To Show You!

What a long, cold Winter everyone has had it seems.
I want Spring and I want it now!

Since it is now March 7th. I want warm weather for St.Patricks Day also.

My family is part Irish/Scottish. I have green vintage stuff to share by golly.

I even have a Belleek Shamrock vase and another Belleek vase. You do not get
anymore Irish than that.
Ever watched Irish Dancers with bagpipes playing Irish tunes? Nothing more energizing in the World.

So Mrs. Winter or Mrs. Snowman or whatever your name is don't you want to join the festivities?
You will have so much fun laying in the warm Sunshine on the back patio. I promise.

Waiting for you Mrs. Spring. Hurry Up.

Love Is Valentines Day Collecting

Being a dealer since 1996 I have probably collected just about everything.
I have always said I am a turtle in the hare and turtle race.
To me the stuff is just getting older.

That said I have to be a bit practical to save my sanity and personal love life.
Most everything I am selling was once upon a time part of my collecting passion.

I love cute and I love beautiful. Cute especially and I owe it to my Mother.
My mother wore aprons every day and I swear also cut cute things out of magazines like puppies, kittens and little children.
When she passed away I found tons of these.
I figure it got her through life. Nothing wrong with that.

So cute it is with my collecting of Vintage Valentine stuff.

Valentine cards, postcards, figurines and anything I go wild about it the first time I see it.

I started collecting postcards at 9 years old and still have them all.

I had a family member that traveled and would send them to me. A little girl out in the country that had not seen anything got to see the world through them.

I always think of beginner collectors and how parents should encourage children to collect.

The most amazing thing about collecting is the passion.

I have it and can pretty much tell immediately who has it by chatting a minute with them.

The eyes light up with keywords like find, vintage, antique, doll, glass, collect.

It is personal what moves the heart. Very, very personal.

All about memories of loved ones and moments lost in time with those loved ones.

Tangible objects, small or large, expensive or not. It does not matter as long as it matters in the heart and mind of that collector.

Each and every time I pass on a treasure I have found I secretly hope it means something to that person and that they truly are vintage lovers.

So maybe that is why I love Vintage Valentines.

I treat myself from time to time. Of course this means I try to sell also to support that.

Love is….
